CUPE Local 1022 recognizes the importance of post secondary education and the ever increasing costs associated with attending a post secondary institute. Whether your child is destined for a trade school, college or university, YOUR union has scholarships available.

2010 CUPE 1022 Scholarship Package Available Now
Submission Deadline - May 21, 2010
Do you have a son or daughter attending college, university or a trades/apprentice program in the fall for the first time? If you are a CUPE member working for the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board, your son or daughter is eligible for a scholarship award from CUPE Local 1022.

Awards

2 @ $1,500 - to the two students holding the highest grades
-
1 @ $ 700 - to a student holding the 3rd highest grades
-
1 @ $ 500- to a student holding the 4th highest grades
Eligibility
- Student must have a parent or legal guardian that is a member of Local 1022.
- Student has not received a previous CUPE scholarship.
- Student graduating from high school and will be entering post secondary education, trade school or apprenticeship program in September 2010.
- STUDENT MUST SEND A COPY OF THE MOST RECENT TRANSCRIPT AND SEMESTER 2 MID TERM REPORT CARD FROM THEIR HIGH SCHOOL OR THE APPLICATION WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.
- A copy of acceptance letter from the college, university or trade school must be attached to the application form.
Selection Criteria
- the average of the courses taken within 2009-2010 graduating year towards an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or Certificate of Learning.
- Based on 1st semester final marks and mid term marks from 2nd semester.

Third Place - Jessica Geen from Centre Hastings SS whose mom is Karen, secretary at SH Connor
Fourth Place - Holly Reid from Centre Hastings SS whose mom is Shelly-Jo, secretary at CHSS.
